Good news, ladies! Over-the-counter access to oral contraceptives (OCs) may soon be available in your state.
Over-the-counter access is already a reality in Oregon and California. A woman need only show up at a drugstore and agree to discuss with a pharmacist smoking, and other factors that can make “the pill” dangerous. If there are no red flags, the woman is issued up to a year’s supply of OCs.
Major healthcare organizations such as ACOG (American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, are onboard with this movement.
